Loose teeth are normal in puppies. Puppy’s baby teeth emerge at 3-5 weeks and are retained till about 6-7 months when they are replaced by adult teeth. During this period, tooth loss is expected and there is no cause for alarm when it is noticed. However, in adults, tooth loss is often a sign of dental disease.

Causes of Loose teeth

  1. Trauma and Injury.
  2. Gum disease.
  3. Cancer of the gum/mouth.

All cases of loose teeth need veterinary treatment and it is rarely home-managed with exception of normal teeth loss in puppies. Once you observe loose teeth in dogs, present the case to your veterinarian as soon as you can. Here are the signs to watch out for if you suspect your dog has loose teeth.
